● Who We Are
Built on Evidence, Driven by Purpose
Founded by Mr. Pramod Bhasin (Genpact, ICRIER) and supported by J-PAL South Asia, Aparajita blends grassroots insight with rigorous research to build solutions that work. We are committed to evidence, empathy, and lasting impact — building a growing network for change.

Where Change Happens
Root Causes and Social Norms
Changing the attitudes and beliefs that allow violence to persist. Building new norms where respect and equality are the foundation.
Law and Justice Systems
Making justice accessible. Less than 1% of women report to police. We are changing that through training, legal aid, and system reform.
Safety in Workplaces and Public Spaces
70% of harassment happens on streets and in transit. We are making every public space safer through tested interventions.
Educational Institutions
800,000 students reached. Programs in schools prove that early intervention reshapes attitudes and prevents violence.
"The struggle against sexual violence is not just a women's issue; it's a fight for human rights and equality in the true sense."
- Indira Jaising, Senior Advocate

● Our Approach
How We Think About Gender-Based Violence
The Continuum
Violence does not stay in one place. Streets, homes, offices, online spaces. We address it everywhere it happens.
Broader Definition
Women choose colleges 8.8% lower in quality, travel 27 extra minutes daily, spend INR 17,500 more yearly. Safety should not cost this much.
Intersectionality
Women’s experiences are shaped by caste, class, disability, and other identities. We ensure marginalized groups are meaningfully included.
Rural Voices
Rural voices matter. Marginalized communities lead. The solutions must come from those who understand the problem best.
Prevention and Response
Prevention changes culture. Response supports survivors. We invest in both because lasting change requires both.
