On 6 January 2024, Aparajita and J-PAL South Asia convened a second expert roundtable to deepen understanding of gender-based violence outside the home, moving from broad sense-making to sharper exploration of persistent themes.
Bringing together researchers, practitioners, and policy voices, the discussion examined evidence gaps across public spaces, workplaces, institutions, and online environments, with a focus on root causes, prevention, weak redressal systems, and missing data.
Rather than offering solutions, the roundtable surfaced critical questions around norms, safety, mobility, community action, and what truly works, continuing to shape Aparajita’s learning and programme design.
