On 16 December 2024, Aparajita and J-PAL South Asia convened an expert programme design workshop, Collaborating for Change: Solutions to Tackle Gender-Based Violence in India, to collaboratively map solutions for preventing gender-based violence in India.

Bringing together practitioners, researchers, lawyers, activists, and policy experts, the workshop focused on identifying evidence gaps, overlooked groups, and promising intervention areas across the continuum of violence — public and private, online and offline.

Through structured discussions and a solution-mapping exercise, participants surfaced priority themes such as strengthening grassroots capacity, expanding legal and mental health support, engaging men and boys, promoting bystander action, and improving system responsiveness.

Rather than finalising solutions, the workshop generated a shared learning agenda to guide Aparajita’s future programming, evaluation, and evidence-building efforts.
